Response:

The 'Alt 0183' on the PC is commanded by concurrently pressing the 'Alt'
and keying in through the NUMERIC KEYPAD '0183'. As you surmised, the
'Alt 0183' is the character code for the symbol you chose. The symbol,
itself, will be inserted where the cursor is placed. Resizing the symbol
can be done at that point as with any character (in Quark, Word, etc.)
