[WinMac] Characters and Bullets

I do graphics and am starting the transfer process from Mac to PC (another
corporate edict). I recently started using the Win version of Freehand 8
and was needing to use some special characters (Kep Caps) such as bullets
and letters with accent marks over them, etc.

On the Mac these can easily be found with a the Key Caps program and used
across all programs. But on the PC I'm having trouble. When I checked the
character map all I get is cryptic messages like "Alt 0183" for a certain
character (in this case a bullet) and when I tried to just copy and paste it
into my Freehand file, it didn't come in correctly and wouldn't resize.
Help! Is there some way to figure out the keystrokes (assuming there must
be some)????
