I would still run Apache on Linux. This is a very common setup and much
help/support is available. I believe that the Linux distribution comes
with Apache. You do not have to be a guru to get it up and going, and any
Linux knowledge you get will help with MacOS X comes along.
Actually, my experience leads me to believe that security is easier under
Linux, since it is integral to the OS and not pasted on top.
