    Hello All--

I'm not exactly up to speed on NT server 4.0 or 2000, but as the "One eyed
man in the Land of the Blind" I'm being asked to design a NT network, spec
out a server, and put it all in a proposal that explains the benefits,
costs, and advantages over the Novell system which has failed miserably.

We have about 200 students and 30 faculty and staff. The students are
required to get laptops running NT. We would like to provide software from
the server to the students. I don't think that NT2000 actually pushes apps
    like Novell.

What options does NT2000 have for providing or "pushing" University
    licensed software to student laptops?

Students have to have access to MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, and
some 3D rendering software such as FormZ and Canvas. Are any of the server
options obviously better for our environment?

what are some good ways to research these decisions? (The sights I've
looked at seem more interested in praising or bashing NT2000 than giving
    details)

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated, you may reply directly to me
if you don't want to post to the list.

    Thanks

    Jeff Thomas
