[WinMac] Exchange server connection

I have a single Mac connected to our Windows network using DAVE. If it
all works well, I'll add the rest of our Macs as well. My problem is I
cannot connect to the Exchange server. I installed the current Exchange
Server version of Outlook (SP1). If I go into the Outlook settings,
enter the IP address of the exchange server and my mailbox and check
names, it finds the server, returns its name and re-formats the mailbox
name. My problem is that it then says it cannot find the Exchange Server
when I attempt to launch Outlook.

Is this related to the fact that the web browser will also only work
with IP addresses? But I can mount volumes by name and transfer files
happily. Also, anyone else who types 'http://powermac8' into their
browser can see the web site on the Mac.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

cheers
