Is this a localtalk printer by chance? There's a problem with some
printer drivers and an OS 8.1 extension called "localtalk PCI".
Un-install it, and your printer should work fine (although slightly
slower).

I'd say it's pretty obvious: there's a break between the printer an the
network, and it doesn't affect the PC's because they're not hooked up to
it. Happy hunting =)
