Hi again,
I am trying to create a Win ME bootable "floppy" CD to install Win ME on
a Fujitsu-Siemens Celvin EasyPC. The Celvin, like the Imac, has no built
in floppy drive, only a third party USB floppy that was purchased
separately. That means, no booting from the floppy drive to get ME
installed. I have a copy of the floppy and have tried to burn it on a
CD-RW, but it doesn't seem to do the trick. I assume it has something to
do with the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files, but what needs to be
changed, I am unsure of.
The other (same?) problem is that while there is an internal CD drive in
the Celvin, a ZipCD USB burner is also connected. At boot up time from
the ME boot "floppy" CD, only the one drive is available as USB isn't
implemented in the boot "floppy" as far as I can tell. That means that
not only do I have to be able to boot the "floppy" CD from D:, but also
access the ME Install CD from the same drive.
Any ideas, advice? I have never tried something like this before and
have never tried to edit a AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS file. Is there
anyone on the list that can maybe walk me through this?
Cheers,
Brian
