    You've at least tried booting from the USB floppy, right? Some motherboards
    do support it. The BIOS should give some indication that's an option.

    I've never used WinME but isn't its install CD bootable? It's not *that*
    old. That would take care of the problem right there.

    What are you using to burn the bootable CD you're trying to make? Roxio's
    Easy CD Creator has a "bootable CD" option which uses a bootable floppy you
    provide to make a binary image of that floppy, leaving the rest of the CD-R
    free for WinME. There's no need for any files to be edited on the floppy,
    just use a normal boot floppy with CD-ROM support. If the WinME cd is like a
    Win98 CD, you just need the contents of the "WinME" folder on the CD to do
    an install (naturally on a Win98 CD the folder is called "Win98").
