[WinMac] Win/Lin partitioning and disc management.

Subject: [WinMac] Win/Lin partitioning and disc management.

I have deleted a /dev/hda3 partition with no data on it. This partition was
an error in judgment that I made when I first installed SuSE 7.3 Linux on my
new dual boot (Win 2k) system some months ago. I have also removed the
reference to the partition in the /etc/fstab. The result is seen below:

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 2295 18434556 c Win95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/hda2 2360 4866 20137477+ f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 2360 2551 1542208+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda6 2552 4866 18595206 83 Linux

Now, I would like to increase the size of my /dev/hda6 partition, which is a
Reiser FS partition. I imagine that I would need to create a Reiser FS
partition to replace the 500 MB /dev/hda3 and somehow merge the two
partitions, but have to admit that I am clueless as to how to go about this.
As I have a dual boot box, it is also possible for me to boot into Win 2k and
use Partition Magic, but I of course, can not create a Reiser FS partition
with it. What strategy should I use and please pencil it out. I need to learn
this as I hope some time in the future to rid myself of Win 2k partitions and
use Wine instead ;-)

Cheers,

Brian
