Samba would have to be installed on the OSX box, but I'm fairly certain
that precompiled versions exist on the OSX box.

Then you'll need to edit the smb.conf files by hand. OSX-Server has GUI
apps to do this, there may well be some other apps that have been ported
to give a gui interface to it under OSX.

It refers to OSX beta, but there should be no difference in OSX.
