I use a refurb 21" Sun monitor w/ Trinitron tube on my G4/400 AGP
tower. No probs at 1600x1200 all day, though I drop down to 1280
x1024 for evening web browsing :-)

The two faint lines are a byproduct of the trinitron technology,
a sacrifice most of us gladly make for the sharpness and brightness.
You stop noticing them after a while .. some are fainter than others.

A curiosity:

I am curious as to whether those PowerMac G4 towers also can work with
inexpensive
refurb large screen monitors . . . and whether these are of high caliber.
All I
ever see advertised with the towers is the very expensive monitors. If I
thought I
could get a decent monitor for under $200, I might actually buy one of those
good
deals on the towers. However, I sure do enjoy the small space of the imac
all in
one on my limited desk space.
