That all sounds groovy, but how does one "hard code" a Mac's Ethernet speed?

...ROMeyn

Somewhen around 3:49 PM -0500 2/14/02, a person believing themself to
be Perbix, Michael scribbled:
>Make sure that the switch port is not set to 100 full and the client to
>autonegotiate (for the server or Mac). Doing so will cause a duplex
>mismatch. The mac should be set in an Auto-negotiate port, and the server
>should either be Auto-negotiate at both ends or locks the same at both ends.
>We had a HUGE problem with the thruput of our servers until we caught that.
>The server said it was 100 full, and the switch was locked at 100 full, but
>in reality the server had a 10 0half connection, the mismatch in duplex
>causes all kinds of wacky stuff.
