Brian,

Having just set up my cable modem, I'll pass on what I have learned. You
should have received a "computer name" from your cable company. That name
needs to be inserted in the Client ID box in the TCP/IP control panel with
DHCP selected, then cycle the power on your cable modem and restart your
Mac. If you do not see the client ID box, then you need to switch the user
mode to advanced (from the Edit menu [or command-U] while you are in TCP/IP)
or upgrade your Open Transport to the latest version.
