    I assume the UPS's serial port connection and software is on one server and
    you want it to trigger the shutdown of the other computer.

    The NT Resource Kit has a program called shutdown (which works locally *or*
    remotely) but there's also the free program psshutdown which is a part of
    pstools from Sysinternals.com. Good stuff in there.

    If you want to shut down the services before issuing shutdown, just use the
    'net stop' command.
