[WinMac] OT: DOS Capture LPT1 Printer Port to USB Printer?

    I know this is off-topic, but people who use Macs and Windows might have an
    edge since USB first came into mainstream use on the Mac side.

    I have an an old DOS application that used to work fine with network and
    parallel printers (and even with Virtual PC running Win95 under Mac OS using
    PowerPrint) but I tried to hook up a new USB printer to a PC via USB, and
    then capture LPT1, but the print job just disappears from the print queue
    and nothing happens at the printer.

    Is it possible to capture LPT1 to USB, or is this the way they (finally) get
    us to move away from DOS apps? <g>
