FWIW, the black button is supposed to do two things: if you press it for 3
seconds while the printer is on and connected, it prints a status sheet with
the mac address and IP address among other things. If you hold it pressed
for 5 seconds during power up it does a reset. All this is according to the
manual anyway, I haven't gotten my printer to do any of it yet :-)
I've tried pinging the factory default IP address of the NIC, which is
something like 22.33.44.55, and no dice. But I have no way of knowing if
that's the effective IP address, since I can't status or reset the NIC.
Any other suggestions? This is actually a lot more help than I've gotten
from Epson so far.
