I have a cable modem connection that the cable goes to a hub and the hub
connects to a Mac and a PC. The problem I have is whichever machine is
first connected to net, then the other one cannot connect until turning off
and modem and on again. Both machines are connected to net after that. It's
annoying that I have to do that everytime I need to have both connected. Is
there a cure to this problem?

It also appears to me that PC will try to connect to net when it's turned
on. Evidenced by the IP number being assigned right away after start up.
Mac does not get assigned an IP address until I try to connect to net.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Changhsu Liu
