That makes sense. I logged onto the network using my Powerbook (OS8.6) and noticed that someone pasted some custom icons onto the volumes and I suspect that this confused the NT. I deleted the custom icons and the black and white Windows icon returned (on my Mac). I think that a restart of the NT will restore the colored icons.

That restart is in the future, it's certainly not worth it for cosmetic reasons.
