Hi Colin,

We had a similar problem, I couldn't figure out how to get around it. As
an interim solution, I pointed our 60 or so macs at our Web* server for
proxy. It has really worked so well that I haven't goofed with them
anymore. Hasn't bogged down our server at all. Don't know if that's an
option for you but if you're running web* v3 or above, HTTP proxy in
included.

Tim,

At some point I was really hoping to point our users back to our MS proxy
figuring that I'd screwed something up in the config. There's really no
workaround for this (or any planned one)? If not, at least I feel good
that I didn't spend more time trying to get it to work... :-)

Thanks,

Unfortunately for MS Proxy Server my only suggestion is
to
replace it with a non Microsoft product. MS Proxy Server 2.0 is a
wonderful solution in a PC only environment. In a cross platform
environment problems such as the one that you pointed out pop up on a
far too regular basis.
