        Dear Theresa,

        It seems that some of the Extensions and/or Control Panels aren't loading,
due to the red "X" you are seeing.

        Since this is a server, I would eliminate any extra Control Panels (such
as Control Strip) and Extensions (such as QuickTime) as possible.

        Also, I would be SURE to download and apply the 8.5 -> 8.5.1 Updater (bug
fix), then trash the Finder Preferences again.
