You don't have to but you can install the Win95 drivers so a Win95 client
can install the printer without having to have the disks.

No the Docutech (at least the one we have here) actually uses a Novell 3.12
server as it's front end. I believe Xerox has changed this recently but on
the older models using NW 3.12 unless you buy Netware IP you can't print to
it via IP. Believe me, we've tried. The new DocuColor40 uses a Splash
front end (which is a Mac based RIP) and we're hitting that via IP. That
works great!
