PostScript is platform independant. But we have an imagesetter in company
(the other department is prepress oriented), and from our experience,
PostScript files coming from Macs never had any problem, while those files
coming from PCs are like playing lottery, especially if they are
Corel-made, they look good distilled in PDF, but generates error in RIP.
Several times our operators wasn't able to do anything with the PS file and
clients went to competition and competition never could do anything with
files also. As I can here from our competition, they all have similar
problems.
