Mitch,

The 1st and possible simplest fix:

1) You might try trashing the finder preferences and zapping the PRAM
using TechTool 1.1.7 or such.

2) Also, if you have troubles with an installation, you might try
disconnecting all peripherals (or at least the scussi's). You could
have a scussi # out of order in the chain.

3) Also, are all the operating systems and drivers the same on all the 7500s?

4) If not, you may be missing an ingredient that is necessary, or you
may have an extension conflict on this particular machine that did not
exist on the others.

If you use Conflict Catcher 8.0, as you should. You can save the set
you use on one of the other machines and see if it works on this machine.

5) Suggestion #1 above is normally the most useful one after having
altered or changed some hardware. A scussi conflict, improper
termination &/or numbering ofthe chain, is sometimes overlooked as a
significant cause -- especially if you have an iomega drive installed
in the chain. The iomega drivers are very sensitive to out of order
scussi devices and can screw up communications between drives and modems
and peripherals in general (in my experience).

God Bless us all.
