Dear Michael (& everyone else):
Several things about Diskeeper you need to keep in the back of your mind:
1) If you use the Server version, be sure the network is started &
running... Diskeeper uses the Computer Browser Service to locate other
machines on the LAN (& Domain) so it can control it;
2) Try Norton Speed Disk instead: You can get a free copy on the
"Optimizing Windows NT" book's enclosed CD. Speed Disk will also run as a
service; but it lacks the boot time directory consolidation of Diskeeper;
3) Both Diskeeper and Speed Disk use the same defragmenting API that is
built into NT4.
