Yes there is. With the LaserWriter 8.5 and desktop printing you can print
using TCP/IP from a Mac. The only downsode (apart from having to actually
configure a printer with an IP address and LPR name from a Mac, ugh) is
Desktop Printing! I know we have people from Apple on this list, but I
will say this: Desktop Printing was always unstable and a lot of printers
don't like it at all (especially Fierys). We don't support it anymore at
the office, but it should do the trick. Make sure you don't use it with
8.0 though, you'll want to upgrade to 8.1. Even Apple admits that it
doesn't work under 8.0...
