I am not sure to whom you direct these questions, but since we fit the bill
as far as being "dual-platform" goes, I'll chime in!

We have several Mac servers. All our Web servers are Macs. We have one
ASIP server in place but are migrating it to NT in the very near future.

Personally? Yes. But it is not used anywhere else on campus. We don't
have a large demand for direct file sharing access across platforms. When
it is necessary, we have several NT servers that share space to both
platforms allowing for easy transfer of files from one user to another. Or
they E-mail them as attachments.

In our labs we use Assimilator for the Macs and PC-Rdist for the PCs. Our
lab PCs are locked down so tightly nothing short of a missle strike will
let a would-be hacker wreck ANYTHING. Details:

Back to the Macs: We used to use FoolProof, but found it too limiting in
too many ways. I prefer to just let the users do what they want and then
let Assimilator take care of the mess later. For some reason Mac users
don't seem to be as destructive (electronically speaking) as PC users.

Most applications are on the local Hard Drive. The only thing the majority
of our lab macs do over our network is print.
