Yes, we're off topic, but since Dan brought it up we need to set thre
record straight. I've been using Macs since 1986 (including four years in
Apple's customer service division), and have found OS 8.1 is the most
stable OS since System 7.1. If you're having problems with 8.1 you should
look at your third-party utilities (especially hard drive formatting)
because 8.1 is much, much more stable than 7.6. Macintosh OS 8.1 has been
every bit as stable as Windows NT 4.0 for me. Caveat: I was using Windows
NT for publishing and ran into myriad Postscript problems.
