[WinMac] Melding Internal and External-External email in win/mac shop

Folks had some great advice and I'm not sure which went to the list and
which was just to me, so I'll summarize before asking my next question.

Software suggestions:
Eudora's WorldMail for NT 2.0
Microsoft Exchange Server
CommuniGate for the Mac
Eudora Internet Mail Server (for Mac)

My comments:
I tried Eudora Internet Mail Server for the Mac and found it a breeze to
set up. It was very much like AppleShare IP 6.0's mail server module.
Just as with ASIP I was able to get an TCP/IP-based Intranet mail system
going within a reasonable time.

Eudora's WorldMail for NT: a monster download (27 megs vs. just over 1
for the Mac version) though I'm sure if I could have made any sense out
of the online help materials I would have found it much more powerful.)

Microsoft Exchange Server--too expensive
CommuniGate for the Mac--decided not to try it when I realized I could
upgrade to ASIP 6 for about $450, since we use 4.2 at present.

So it looks like ASIP is the way to go. My Windows users and Mac users
can all send and receive messages like a charm. If I tell my ISP to send
all our njbiz.com mail to our email server then I won't have to sweat
setting up users with clients that can handle two accounts, either.

MY FINAL QUESTION: Does this mean I have to set up whatever computer runs
ASIP, or whichever of these programs I might select, with its own domain
name? Our e-mail goes to our domain njbiz.com, located at the place that
maintains our Web site. It bounces from there to our ISP, from where we
get it. Would I have to register another domain, say njbiz2.com or
something so we could get our e-mail when we dialing in from a locate
location?

Am I on the right track here?

Thanks to all who have responded so far, including, but not limited to:
Ari Weinstein, Ben Fullerton, Bede, Larry Rosenstein.

Dan G.
