1) Your plugged into the VGA part of your vidio care (if you have a
dual out video card).

2) Your mac to VGA adapter isn't set right.

The adapter should explain setting options or the paper that came with
to adapter can help guide you.

I hope this takes care of it for you.

3) Your monitor isn' near any strong magnetic fields, like a large
magnet in speakers is it?

If it is move the speakers ASAP.
