[WinMac] Setting Internal Mail Server for Macs/Win95 machines

I have a Mac shop with a new batch Windows Laptops for the ad people
upstairs. We are all on an ethernet network and have a Windows NT 4.0
server for the Win boxes and an Appleshare 4.something for the Macs.

I want to get everybody on one email system so we don't need to run two
email clients on each machine, one for inside and one for outside.
Fooling around with the Beta of Appleshare IP 6.0 (ASIP) I was able to
set up a mail server that let the two platforms send mail via IP to the
ASIP server without having to go outside to our ISP. I just told the
Windows machines that the address of the internet server was the IP
address of that particular Mac. However, this seems to require that every
user have a client like Claris emailer, that allows you to have two
accounts: one for internal messages and one for the rest of the world.
This leads me to several questions:

1. Is there some function built into NT that will be the equivelent of
ASIP's mail server--we've already bought NT, so it would be nice not to
have to buy ASIP, too. Also, our creaky copy of Appleshare 4.2.1 is
otherwise satisfactory.

2. To get around having to buy everyone new e-mail clients that allow
multiple accounts, should I be thinking about having all our Internet
email forwarded to a mail server within the shop so just accessing one
email account gets the internal messages and external messages? I like
the idea of having our internal email messages going through an in-house
computer instead of having to shoot around the planet and be held up at
our ISP.

I've been following the related discussions on this group and haven't
quite seen the answers I'm looking for yet. I hope I'm asking the right
questions.

Thanks for any help.
