RE: [WinMac] Burning dual-platform CD-ROMs

I've burned many dual-platform CDs, and hybrid format is the way to go. Only
one image of the dataset being burned is physically on the CD, so except for
some overhead and the two directories (one for each platform), the entire
650+ MB is available for data.

You have to master the CD on the Mac since Windows/EZCD doesn't know that
the MacBinary information is there, nor does it know what to do with it.
This means Macintosh/Toast can burn [Mac|WIN|hybrid] CDs, while Windows and
EZCD will faithfully reproduce only WIN CDs.

Some caveats:

        * Avoid using Windows special characters in filenames.
        * Avoid starting names with spaces or carriage returns. (What?
;-) )
        * Do set Joliet filenaming in your ISO9660 dialog box--this is
what enables long filenames in the Windows-visible data. If you forget this
part, the Windows filenames will all be 8.3.
        * Do run virus scans on your files before writing them to
CD--can you picture virus code permanently etched into a CD that will last
for decades or centuries?

It's an extra few steps, but I also save a copy of the Toast-generated text
document that lists the files having Bad Joliet Filenames to the CD image
being burned. By clearing the current Toast session and rerunning the setup
procedures, this adds a file to both the Windows and Macintosh sessions
which lists the files that Windows programs may have difficulty opening due
to non-Windows-standard naming conventions. In the event Windows can't
access a file that appears in this list, just pop the CD into a Macintosh
and sneakerNet the data.
