Thank you for all your suggestions!
At the moment I have one of the Pentium machines connected to the LW 12/640
via a parallel cable. I can share this printer with the 6 Pentium machines
using MS file and print sharing without a problem. However I would dearly
like to remove that printer cable and use an Ethernet connection instead.
In order to use Ethernet do I have to install:
1) NT workstation and setup a printer queue.
Can I use TCP/IP printing with NT? I already have an IP number set for the
LW from the Mac side of the network. Will the Mac side of the network
co-exist with NT? Can I use ethernet to connect the LW with NT??
or
2) Novell Netware fileserver as the manual suggests.
I've already looked into COPS but I think its too expensive. The only thing
I really want to do is to get rid of that ugly parallel cable. By the way I
also have a LW IIg to connect. Can I also go through ethernet on this as well?
Thanks in advance!
Peter
