You might also want to install the MacIPX control panel on the Mac. It
will help your speed-of-connection to the server and stability.

I'm not aware of Novell requiring a purchase for the drivers, but I would
not be surprised. Their pricing scheme is one of the reasons NT is
blowing buy them at near light speed. As far as I know, the licensing is
done at the server end - you install a license for 5, 10, 50 whatever
users on the server. It just keeps track of the concurrent connections.
You definitely need the mac.nlm software loaded at startup. You also have
to set up a Mac volume on the server (which is accessible cross-platform,
but it supports HFS in addition to Novell's file system). Be careful,
from time to time you will need to "rebuild the desktop" on that volume.
There is a command that is required before the volume mounts that will do
this (and it could take hours to execute with large volumes). Check the
Novell Mac services book for details. I can't remember the command. I
just remember that I had to do it often on my 3.12 server.

Any CNEs out there with info about whether you need to purchase the
client?
