Well, yes, that was indeed what we did. We only used the AppleTalk ability
of Dell PPro with WinNT and plugged an Ethernet cable from our LAN into the
outlets on the LW 12/640. Sharing of the printer is done over our LAN with
Microsoft Networking. Somehow about 50% of the printouts were lost on the
way to the printer. Cant see why.
But since we connected the printer with a parallell cable directly to the
WinNT it has worked without problems. The Macs newer had a problem with
either LocalTalk or Ethernet.
