My daughter, when at home, uses an external color monitor attached to her
PB190 for designing web pages. She then carts the pb back and forth to work
and school, where she is working on her PhD. She does not use an external
keyboard; however, I was at the local Apple dealer this week asking about
using a pb as a main computer. He said that you can run with the pb closed
if you are using an external monitor and KB. Any model. Not just the Duos.
This is our local "authorized dealor" . He didn't seem to think there would
be any overheating problem. I thought the pb vented through the keyboard,
so I'm not so sure that this would be a good idea. If I were doing this, I
would keep the pb open. Alternatively, an advantage to using an external
monitor with a pb is that you have more deskspace, because you can run both
monitors at the same time. The Macs are able to do this very easily. Donna
