In my initial testing, Appleshare IP 6 is faster than Win NT Services for
Macintosh, and, of course, much easier to set up and maintain. Also, unlike
NT, Mac and Windows clients can access the same directory transparently,
making it a better choice for cross-platform use. This testing was done on
a beta of ASIP 6 on a stock 8600, BTW, so running the full version (when it
is released) on a G3 server will be much faster. If you had 10 times as
many users I might hesitate, but for your size I would not hesitate to
recommend an Appleshare server.
