        I wanted to apologize for the frequent changes in list behavior
over the past week. Steve and I were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic
response from subscribers, and we had a lot of software problems to iron
out. Unfortunately, Steve has decided that moderation is incompatible with
his other responsibilities, so I alone am currently in charge right now. To
recapitulate:

1. Posts to the list are moderated. I think we fixed the header problem.

2. Those who subscribed to the digest
<mailto:winmac-digest@xerxes.frit.utexas.edu> will receive it in MIME
format. It seems to arrive either as an attachment or as a single message,
depending on the type of email program you're using. Eudora Pro 4.x seems
to receive digests as attachments.

3. "Normal" mode, where you receive individual messages, has been
reenabled. To switch from digest mode to normal mode, simply send a message
to <mailto:winmac-on@xerxes.frit.utexas.edu>.

4. To unsubscribe, send a message to <mailto:winmac-off@xerxes.frit.utexas.edu>

5. Any comments, complaints, or suggestions should be sent to me:
<mailto:mlbizer@mail.utexas.edu>.
