I’ve used the Zip Plus on my jolly rounds rather than carry both basic zips;
it works well enough, but has serious limitations. It works best, Mac or PC,
when it is the only SCSI device, and really really likes to be first in the
SCSI chain if it is not. It is not safe (in the data integrity sense) to use
it with any kind of SCSI adapter,so it is not suitable to PowerBooks or
systems having only 50 or 68 pin connectors. I’ve found its best use to be in
moving between PC systems with SCSI and those without; I can have the speed
advantage of SCSI when it is available.

This said, it works pretty well, just not as well as the hype would have one expect.
