Hmmm... this sounds familiar, and I've enountered it uploading from a
Mac to a Mac server running WebStar.
Guess what the problem was? My ftp program was keeping a cache of the
server's directory. It actually *did* replace the files I uploaded, the
change just didn't show up on my screen.
The solution: tell the ftp program to refresh the file list. In Fetch,
this is command is under the "Directories" menu.
