Subject: Extension mapping in a list, and other questions

I'm starting to address the issue of Windows users sharing the same
volumes as Mac users on our AppleShare server. Currently through
COPSTalk and ultimately through AppleShare IP v6.
Some questions:
* Where can I get an text file (or can be exported to a text file) of
DOS extension to mac application mappings? All the sources I've found
include the information difficult-to-extract formats (e.g., Win95
registry, PC Exchange on the Mac, Dos*Rename, Cross Platform, etc). I
want to be able to tell my users what files extensions to use when
naming the file on a Mac.
* Where can I get a concise description of the naming differences
between Win95 and Mac and how do DOS names fit into that scheme etc.
It's pretty clear I need to change my AppleShare share point names to 12
letter names - how about folders, files, etc?
* I'm considering creating completely seperate shares for PC users and
Mac users., where each platform can copy from the other but only write
to their own. Is this a practical solution of over-kill? Are there
alternate suggestions?

Thanks,
