I have my 5MP set up with an old Etherprint adapter using the localtalk
port. For the PC's to see it, I set it up on the NT server using the
appletalk print device. It has worked well that way since it was new.

Here's another option not for the faint of heart:

Take a dumpster dive somewhere and scrounge up an old Pentium-class
CPU. Toss a 2-4GB drive in it and load Linux, CUPS, and Netatalk and
share the printer on your LAN, connected to the parallel port.

Toss an extra NIC in it and it can be your Firewall/Router as well.
Throw Samba into the mix and you have a cross-platorm file server.
