I am seeking recommendations for a network monitoring tool for our
small-college network. The network includes of a mix of servers (NT,
Win2000, and Linux), a lot of aging network devices, and about 250
mixed platform computers. We want to be able to monitor traffic and
devices in order to better troubleshoot and locate problems.

I have looked at Intermapper 4.0 but don't really know what its
competition is or how it compares.
