    OSX has it built in to the networking control panel...OS( requires a utility that most ISP's provide called MacPoet...however I STRONGLY suggest getting a linksys router or something to keep you connected and add a "firewall" layer to your connection....not bad for $80....

    So do most DSL providers require the use of PPPoE? Do those cable ISPs do the same thing?

    I see PPP in the TCP/IP control panel (OS 9). I don't see PPPoE. Is there some additional software I'll have to install?
