Many thanks for the input Bruce. Yes, the obvious thing is to try to find
someone else, but the problem is that everyone that we know here have the
same problem. These guys are simply not good enough. I get the impression
that the good ones immigrate if they can, to the States.

I think their idea is to "ghost" my hard disk partitions and reformat. This
way, they preserve the data and have a "clean" medium. The question is of
course, whether the Linux partitions and all the data will be preserved? This
of course includes LILO. I don't know whether the MBR is "ghosted" as well.
