        Actu7ally, most of the other comments about the LCD display are quite
correct... And here's why:

        The iMac uses a 1:1 mapping of pixels between the display adapter and the
actual transistor matrix - Just like a laptop.

        On the other hand, *most* LCD displays for desktop computers use the analog
output from the video adapter and try to "map" the signal back to the
individual transistors... In other words, the display adapter converts from
digital to analog; just to have the display unit "emulate" a CRT display and
convert it back to digital -- Sort of like a Trinitron (aperture grille) CRT.

        Also, if Apple actually does ship the $1299 iMac, it's a VERY good deal with
the 800 mHz G4 CPU...

        And if the dog didn't stop to take a shit, he'd caught the rabbit!
