Michael,

Reminds me of the time I was driving my '52 Jimmy through Sonora back
in '71 when my fan belt pulley flew apart. Got a lift down a dirt
road into a parts lot in a little village off the hiway. This guy had
every pulley from every post-war Ford or Chevy up to about '62. Why?
Because that's what his customers drove.

Adobe and my software company likewise will carry and support what
our customers use. So, as unreasonable as it sounds to you, while the
whole darn world follow Bill & Steve up the ladder software firms
have to target the support to match the installed OS base. So lovable
curmudgeons like yourself will eventually have better luck getting
support down in that little Sonoran village where the campesinos are
trying to make do with recycled P90s than on this side of the border
;-)

BTW, if you guys have any trouble with the 98 system you may need to
do a clean install. There are significant shortcomings to doing a
simple upgrade on some hardware. You can use the same disk just do it
"clean". If all's well as it is then forget it.

Good Luck, Richard L.
