    I have run into the same kind of problem. I found that if the Appletalk
    Node setting is the same as other macs on the network, the servers can't be
    seen from the macs. Printers will appear and disappear from the chooser as
    well. We use a static ip addressing scheme here, so we use the ip address
    as the node number. Works well
