I have a few machines, both Mac and PC on a LAN. The connection to
the outside world is via a 56k modem on a Mac running IPNetRouter.

As far as I can tell the PC's always hog the bandwidth. Example : if
a Mac and PC are both downloading a file (from the internet) the PCs
always seem to get a bigger portion of the bandwidth.

Is this my imagination? Can you "limit" this? The LAN is connected by
    an auto-sensing Netgear 10/100 switch.

    Cheers, Antony.
