    Well, from looking at this page,
    <http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n30604>, I'd say it's a ROM
    revision. They list iMac as not working but I they think really mean that
    it won't work on the current iMacs (Indigo, Ruby, etc.). I know there are
    people running OS X Server on the older iMacs.

    If the ROM is the problem, you probably can't boot the cube using the OS X
    Server CD. If the ROM is the only problem, you could try putting the cube's
    hard drive in another machine (preferably something similar, like a G4 w/
    AGP), install OS X Server on it, grab a newer ROM file (may need to come
    from an OS X Public Beta) and put the drive back in the cube. Since it
    sounds like you're considering ordering the Cube, you'll probably want to
    ask around to find out if someone has successfully put it on any one of the
    new models from this summer.

    You could ask in the OS X Server forum <http://discussions.info.apple.com/>

    Another place to ask would be the MacOSX-Talk list run by the Omni Group
    <http://www.omnigroup.com/community/mailinglists/macosx-talk/>
