    But I've seen CC get weird with different system versions, and I've never seen EM do that, at least not since 8.1

    Besides, the fewer things you have running, the better your troubleshooting is. And if you learn to troubleshoot the manual way, then you can use CC *much* better than otherwise, but you're not crippled without it.
